Question Dell XPS 15 9560 + Fedora 25 = issues

Hi,
First post on here
I want to run Fedora 25 as my main OS on my shiny new Dell XPS 15 9560 laptop. The problem is, I have a few errors on boot.
The laptop combines the latest Intel KabyLake processor/GPU with a nVidia 1050 and I have installed the negativo17 driver for the nVidia gfx, i.e. blacklisted nouveau.

Anyway, here's my dmesg:

Code:
[root@mark ~]# dmesg | grep -E -i "fail|error"
[ 0.035587] ACPI Error: [\_SB_.PCI0.XHC_.RHUB.HS11] Namespace lookup failure, AE_NOT_FOUND (20160831/dswload-210)
[ 0.038612] ACPI Error: 1 table load failures, 10 successful (20160831/tbxfload-246)

[ 4.115030] ath10k_pci 0000:02:00.0: Direct firmware load for ath10k/cal-pci-0000:02:00.0.bin failed with error -2
[ 4.115231] ath10k_pci 0000:02:00.0: Direct firmware load for ath10k/QCA6174/hw3.0/firmware-5.bin failed with error -2
[ 4.151582] nvidia: module verification failed: signature and/or required key missing - tainting kernel
[ 332.440722] mce: [Hardware Error]: Machine check events logged
Here's my mcelog:

Code:
[root@mark ~]# mcelog
mcelog: Family 6 Model 9e CPU: only decoding architectural errors
mcelog: warning: 16 bytes ignored in each record
mcelog: consider an update
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks

Have the same system and same errors, but can't get my graphics working properly.
How did you get the Nvidia graphics working with PRIME Synchronization?

I literally just followed the steps on here -> http://negativo17.org/nvidia-driver/
2 lines of config:

Code:
dnf config-manager --add-repo=http://negativo17.org/repos/fedora-nvidia.repo
dnf -y install nvidia-driver nvidia-settings kernel-devel

That's bizarre, tried that several times now, are you using version 378.13 with no extra boot parameters?
I can launch wayland but it's the intel graphics card doing the work, when I try to launch Xorg it crashes.

Anyone try Fedora26 and notice resolution to your issues? I've seen it both ways that some are saying everything is working as expected, and others saying that the dGPU is a problem/hurdle.

Thanks!

mianosm,

I used to have problems just trying to bring up nvidia up on my HP Envy 5 and 7 laptops... then I found the issue with it... have a look in here...

https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4574

It solved both of my laptops issues with the display not turning on.

Do you have the FHD or 4K display? Because with the 4K display and the 1050, that is not working with 4.11.8 or 4.11.11.

This post seems to have a more useful grub command line: https://forums.fedoraforum.org/showp...97&postcount=2

The output from lspci -k for the Video card shows:
Quote:
01:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GP107M [GeForce GTX 1050 Mobile] (rev a1)
Subsystem: Dell Device 07be
Kernel driver in use: nvidia
Kernel modules: nouveau, nvidia_drm, nvidia

Following the steps here and switching to X instead of Wayland is what finally worked for me. Thanks everyone!
