    My Fedora ARM project

    I mentioned in other posts my plans to add an ASUS Tinker Board to my ARM collection.

    Here is a pic of the recently received Tinker Board sharing the top of a desktop switch with my BeagleBone Black. The Beaglebone is running Linux 4.10.17-200.fc25.armv7hl and the Tinker Board is running its native Debian ( Linux 4.4.16-00006-g4431f98-dirty ).

    Current setup has bbone and tinkr operating as standalone systems accessed via ssh.

    The goal for this project is to get both ARM systems operating on Fedora via PXE Boot and Spice consoles as Front end processors to my workstation.
    Laptop: Toshiba / Intel B960 2.20Ghz x2/ 4GB/ 320GB HD/ Intel HD 2000/ fc39.x86_64

    I see, you have installed on BeagleBone Linaro. What is installed on Tinker Board??? Ah, I see: Board is running its native Debian (Linux 4.4.16-00006-g4431f98-dirty).

    You should upgrade it to at least 4.10 kernel... Very first step to achieve wishful target by your desires/dreams.

    Your PXE server (both systems armv71 are attached to it via TP-LINK IP switch) is true AMD based, and TRULY runs on Fedora 25 (background screen), doesn't it???

    Re: My Fedora ARM project

    In picture:
    bbone = Beaglebone Black is on left - OS = Fedora 25 ( 4.10.17-200.fc25.armv7hl)
    tinkr = Tinker board is on right - OS = Debian-Linaro (4.4.16-00006-g4431f98-dirty)

    The Debian 4.4.16 is the native version provided by ASUS. There are numerous issues with the level of support provided for their board. Primarily due to the maturity of their "device tree" definition.
    The "device tree" file is what maps the hardware components for the Linux kernel.
    I have since loaded Armbian which has a very solid "device tree" definition implemented with ARMBIAN 5.27, derived from Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS, and kernel level is currently at Debian version 4.11.3-rockchip.

    Yes, the workstation is currently F25, but will move to F26 sometime during the Beta timeframe. The F26 release includes the 2017 u-boot libraries which provide Tinker board support.

    The Fedora ARM project has not yet developed a Tinker board package. Sorting through the u-boot, device tree, and kernel build issues to build my own package is my current challenge.

    There is a lot of work represented in that single sentence goal

    For info: the Tinker board uses the same components as the ASUS Chromebook C201.
