Re: Alpha, beta and Final - TC & RC images
I just installed Beta TC5 - KDE X86_64 (SHA256 matches for iso image). After booting into kernel 4.0.0-0.rc4.git0.1, the screen shows lots of text, then freezes at the following:
[OK] Started login service
[OK] Started SYSV: late init script for live image
In other words, there's no KDE login screen. My box has AMD dual core CPU, GeForce 6600 GT Nvidia video card and 4 GB RAM.
Any suggestions? Thanks a lot for your help.

Sounds exactly what happened to me some TCs ago, but with Gnome (live) and only on a real system booting from dvd.

That's weird .. Nothing like this seems to be reported in the blockerbugs. Do you know if there is a bug report already for this?

Hello,
I did not see any bug report for this. I was using a Live DVD image and installation was relatively smooth. I noticed that the kernel boot option "linux16 /boot/vmlinuz...." ends with "ro" instead of "LANG=en_US.UTF8".

Re: Alpha, beta and Final - TC & RC images
Tried beta TC6 and it doesn't boot on my Asus notebook (BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at (NULL)).
What's strange is that the trace states it is tainted (might be because I see that there are Virtual Box modules being loaded?).
This looks like the same problem that prevented me from booting on my Asus desktop a few TCs ago (although that one seemed to stall on Plymouth boot screen wait to quit job).
Also, the live dvd is still unworkable slow in a VM with 1024 MB (whereas F21 Live workstation installs just fine).
-edit- Good news! Also tested it on my desktop and this TC boots to desktop. -edit-

Hi,
Which version of TC6 were you testing? Live? DVD?, network install? If you can get the live cd version to run, then the installation of that version should work. I have been using F22 for a while, without pain.
I do have issues with the Network Install version not completing.
I did not check to determine if F22 is totally running Wayland. Wayland on F21 powers off after an undetermined amount of time while in use. That platform is an I3 Intel system.
It's the live dvd for workstation (I don't think there's a cd).
On my desktop it did boot but the desktop session was running on Xorg (still as root unfortunately and for some reason I could not exit to GDM to select Wayland because it just dropped me back to the boot messages).

PROBLEM SOLVED!
Copied and pasted from the same box, to append to the end of same kernel boot option:
vconsole.font=latarcyrheb-sun16 vconsole.keymap=us rhgb quiet nouveau.modeset=0 rd.driver.blacklist=nouveau video=visa:off LANG=en_US.UTF8
After reboot, I was able to see KDM login page.
Edit:
I spoke too soon. After turning the PC off, and turn it back on, kernel boot option only has "ro" and "LANG=en_US.UTF8". If I boot into this, screen does not show KDE login page. Instead, it shows lots of texts and ends with the following:
Starting WPA supplicant daemon
IPV6: ADDRCONF=NETDEV_UP: wlp3r6: link is not ready
Had to edit /boot/grub2/grub.cfg file via kdesu kwrite, insert the missing options, then save it. Now I get KDE login page every time!

Re: Fedora 22 Beta TC8
I've been using F22 for the past couple of months. Been pretty solid.
Only thing I don't like is the recent yum to dnf switchover, since dnf still fails
in certain circumstances so I just manually undid that bit. A bunch of gnome
extensions have been updated for 3.16 now as well. I had to switch to nemo
though because I absolutely detest the icon changes to nautilus.
Oh, and VirtualBox-5.0 works fine still, using the fedora18 package.

It's a beta and it's mentioned on the website, but if you just want to download, go here.

Re: Alpha, beta and Final - TC & RC images
I thought VBox 5 was an April Fools joke, but it looks like the real deal and that it will be a big improvement (with big features like universal D&D, scaling, disk encryption...).
